This month the Visits programme continues with the day trip Duffryn - see the Visits page for details, there are still some places available.  ALHS members will receive their Summer Newsletter early in the month but there is no lecture in August.

The Home Front in Abergavenny exhibition, created by ALHS, is open in Gunter Mansion throughout August on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays 10.30am to 4pm. Find it at 39 Cross Street.

Don't forget to visit the ALHS Street Survey website where you can find fascinating historic information about individual properties in Abergavenny town centre. You can visit the new website here -

  • Walks

During the longer daylight days, we organise walks around interesting areas of Abergavenny for members and for the public.
    How to book?
Booking is not usually necessary but details are given on the walks page of this website, the press and on posters.
We also arrange guided tours for groups.

  • Visits

    Derbyshire visit 2017

From May or June onwards, we visit places of historical interest, with day, evening and weekend excursions.
How to book? A list is sent out to members by email (or post) in the January. Book as soon as you can as places are now being allocated on a 'first come' basis, although there are sometimes cancellations later. You need to be a member to book for and to go on visits, so you will need to renew your membership before your visit.
