May - Frank Oldings talk on The Archaeology of Upland Gwent will follow the AGM at 7.30 on Thursday 18 May.

2017 Summer Visits - All the trips are fully booked except for a few places on the September one. The only chance of getting on one of the others trips is if somebody drops out. Contact Caroline if you want to be put on a reserve list.

Don't forget to visit the Society's new Street Survey website where you can find fascinating historic information about individual properties in Abergavenny town centre. You can visit the new website here -

  • Visits

    Caerleon excavations visit

From May or June onwards, we visit places of historical interest, with day, evening and weekend excursions.
How to book? A list is sent out to members by email (or post) in the January. Book as soon as you can as places are now being allocated on a 'first come' basis, although there are sometimes cancellations later. You need to be a member to book for and to go on visits, so you will need to renew your membership before your visit.

  • Walks

During the longer daylight days, we organise walks around interesting areas of Abergavenny for members and for the public.
    How to book?
Booking is not usually necessary but details are given on the walks page of this website, the press and on posters.
We also arrange guided tours for groups.
