April - Please note that this months lecture is earlier in the month than usual - 6 April. It is Kirsti Bohata's talk, Amy Dillwyn: Suffragist & pioneering industrialist.  See the 'This Month' page in the menu on the left for more information.

If members have not yet booked any trips from the 2017 Summer Visits Programme the good news is that there are still a few places left on all the trips - but this may not be the case for long. Completed forms should be sent to the Visits Team as soon as possible. Upload your form here if you have mislaid yours - ALHS2017Visits.pdf

Don't forget to visit the Society's new Street Survey website where you can find fascinating historic information about individual properties in Abergavenny town centre. You can visit the new website here -

  • Visits

    Caerleon excavations visit

From May or June onwards, we visit places of historical interest, with day, evening and weekend excursions.
How to book? A list is sent out to members by email (or post) in the January. Book as soon as you can as places are now being allocated on a 'first come' basis, although there are sometimes cancellations later. You need to be a member to book for and to go on visits, so you will need to renew your membership before your visit.

  • Walks

During the longer daylight days, we organise walks around interesting areas of Abergavenny for members and for the public.
    How to book?
Booking is not usually necessary but details are given on the walks page of this website, the press and on posters.
We also arrange guided tours for groups.
