July - Visit the Gunter Mansion display! From 14 July 39 Cross Street will be open on from 10.30am - 4pm on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays to display information about the property and its history.  Between 14 July and 12 August you can also see display panels about ALHS, so please come and support the Society.

2017 Summer Visits - 3 of the 4 visits have now taken place but there are still a few places on the September one. Contact Caroline if you want to take this opportunity.

Don't forget to visit the Society's new Street Survey website where you can find fascinating historic information about individual properties in Abergavenny town centre. You can visit the new website here -

  • Visits

    Caerleon excavations visit

From May or June onwards, we visit places of historical interest, with day, evening and weekend excursions.
How to book? A list is sent out to members by email (or post) in the January. Book as soon as you can as places are now being allocated on a 'first come' basis, although there are sometimes cancellations later. You need to be a member to book for and to go on visits, so you will need to renew your membership before your visit.

  • Walks

During the longer daylight days, we organise walks around interesting areas of Abergavenny for members and for the public.
    How to book?
Booking is not usually necessary but details are given on the walks page of this website, the press and on posters.
We also arrange guided tours for groups.
